Hello all,

I am a brand new member of this list as I have only just found proof
positive of my Loyalist NJ ancestry. In essence, I am working backward in
following my Dutch heritage from Northern Maine to New Brunswick and now to
Bergen County, New Jesrey. I am most interested in any information regarding
the following people:

Ryck LYDECKER. Born abt 1708. Ryck died ? . Ryck married Maritie BENSEN.
Born abt 1714. Maritie died abt 1760; she was 46. They had the following
children: (1) Garret (1729-1794), (2) Richard, (3) <Unknown sister>, (4)
Samuel Benson (1736-<1818).

Rev. Garret LYDECKER. Born in 1729 in New Jersey, Bergen Co. Emigrated in
Oct 1783 from New York City. Immigrated aft Oct 1783 to ENGLAND. Garret died
in ENGLAND in 1794; he was 65.

Richard LYDECKER.

<Unknown Sister> LYDECKER. Immigrated in 1783 to CANADA, New Brunswick, St
John Co. She married Oliver BOURDETT (Captain of the ³Tartar² With The 12th
Militia Co. of Refugee Loyalists). Immigrated in 1783 to CANADA, New
Brunswick, St John Co.

Samuel Benson LYDECKER. Sr. Born on 17 Jun 1736 in New Jersey, Hackensack.
Emigrated ca. 1781 from New Jersey, Hackensack ??. Immigrated ca 1783 to
CANADA, New Brunswick, St John Co, St John. Samuel Benson died in CANADA,
New Brunswick, Queens Co, Waterborogh Parish, bef 13 Oct 1818; he was 82. On
5 Jan 176(4) when Samuel Benson was 27, he married Catherine PROVOST, in New
Jersey, Hunterdon. Born ca 1740. Catherine died bef 1783 .

-----

I am also seeking information about the general location in which they lived
- specifically: Hackensack Village, English Neighborhood and Overpeck Creek.
For that matter, any info about the ship ³Tartar² would be deeply
appreciated.

TIA, and regards,
