Subject: [NJBergen] David Ackerman - Correct emigration record needed

I have several different dates for David Ackerman's departure/arrival in New
Amsterdam.
David Ackerman and Elisabeth Bellier "left the port of Amsterdam September
2nd. 1662 on the ship VOS. Probably some time was spent in an English port and
then about mid-Sept. the VOS again proceeded to the New Netherlands. After a
stormy voyage they arrived in New Amsterdam on November 14, 1662. The Dutch
West Indies Company ledger for this trip is still preserved in the New York
State archives in the State Library at Albany, N.Y."
Ref: The Ackerman Genealogy by Barbara W. Tobey Pub.1980 [V1:5]
But, Ship Passenger Lists - New York and New Jersey (1600-1825) by Carl Boyer
Pub.1978 [pp.27,129] and the Holland Society Yearbook [HSYB 1902:21,22] give
different dates.
August 31, 1662. In D'Vos (The Fox), Captain Jacob Janse Huys.
"David Ackerman, from the Mayory of Bosch, wife and six children,
20,18,16,12,8, and 6 years old."
Does anyone have access to The Dutch West Indies Company ledger cited by
Tobey? In the Holland Society yearbook, is August 31, 1662 the date they
departed or date of arrival in New Netherlands.
Thank you,
Ethel
