Hello Lilly, I don't have as much for you as the "other" Dorothy, but I have
some information relating to the Ferndon family. They are related to my
cousin's line (Perry) and there is documented lineage information with the DAR,
another avenue for you to explore.

Thomas Ferdon, Sr and his wife, Yte Juriaens had a son, Thomas
Ferdon\Verdon, born in Gawanus Section, Brooklyn, Queens, New York (Sources: Sources:
Gesner Family Bfl. Library; Harvey's Bio.History of Bergen County(NJ)) married
Barbara \Van Imbroeck\ Abt. 1650. Their son, Jacob Ferndon (sources: Approved
DAR papers, Oct 1977, History of Bergen County (New Jersey), Kings Militia
1715, Constable in 1664), born March 19, 1656 in Brooklyn, NY was married on May
17, 1678 in New York to Femmetye Williams. They had at least two children:
Barbara Ferdon date unknown, and Wilhemus Ferdon,(sources: Rockland Country
History, pg 231; Soldier in the Revolutionary War) born February 28, 1743 in
Tappan, New York. He died September 20, 1810 in Harrington Twp, New Jersey. He
married Tietje Verveelen in 1783 and produced Johannis Ferdon on February 13,
1767 in Upper Tappan, New York. He died April 17, 1841 in Tappan, New York.
He married Sophia Westervelt (b February 16, 1820 in Tappan, NY) on December
22, 1786 in Tappan. Their son, Jacob Ferdon, (Source: Kakait Patent, Durie,
pg 196 & 148), born July 12, 1780 in Schraalenburg, Bergen Co., New Jersey,
died April 26, 1868. He married Elizabeth Haring on December 24, 1806 in
Tappan, Rockland Co., New York. (Sources: Kakait Patent, Durie, pg 196 & 148 and a
Letter to Mina Perry from the author, Howard I Durie dated 4 Sept 1974)
Their daughter, Aaltje Ferdon, born January 18, 1808, married Jacob J Perry,
(born August 11, 1802 in Orangetown, NY, died 1849) on November 12, 1825 in
Tappan, Rockland Co., New York.
