Ilsa,
There are aboout 25 different funeral homes in Newark, N.J. but no Brierley.
I have found the State Dept. of Health, Bureau of Vital Stats., CN 360,
Trenton, N.J. 08625. Also found STATE BOARD: Contact - Maurice W. McQuade,
Exec. Director, 1100 Raymond Blvd., Room 513, Newark. N.J. 07102. Perhaps
the Essex Funeral Service at 253 Mt. Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey
07104 could help as they appear to be the biggest in the area and would know
where to direct your friend. My book is from 1989 so it is quite old. Hope
some of this helps
