Subject: [NJGLOUCE-L] RAY Family of Gloucester and Salem Counties?
Date: Fri, 4 Dec 1998 17:43:57 EST
Does anyone recognize John RAY, listed on pg. 397 of Laws of the Royal Colony
of NJ 1770-1775 under Gloucester County for a sawmill and gristmill, states
John RAY shall pay for the first 18 Months, five shillings. Further down the
page, John RAY shall pay for the first 18 Months, ten shillings for the grist
mill.
Also have a listing for a Josiah RAY from Abstractof Graves of Revolutionary
Patriots, vol. 3: RAY, Josiah, buried at Old Broad Street Cemetery, Bridgeton,
NJ.
I believe this is the same RAY family that married into the ELWELL and RICHMAN
families in the area. Can anyone tell me more, please?
