I have a dilemma that I hope someone can solve. Most of my Lacy ancestors
lived in the 1800s in Salem and Gloucester Counties, i.e., Pittsgrove Twp.,
Mannington Twp.,Whig Lane, Friendship, etc. On my gggrandfather's death
cert., for John L. Lacy it says place of birth was in Ewansville. I know
this is in Burlington Co. in Pemberton Twp. Since the town of Ewan is just
up the road from where they had been living for about 4 generations I don't
find a link for how John would have been born up north. Was Ewan ever called
Ewansville also? Also, another Lacy family is listed in the 1830 census for
Gloucester Co. as living in Wootunk Twp. Where is Wootunk located in 1830?
Can anybody solve my Lacy mystery? Thanks, Joan Lacy Fitzsimmons
