Hi,
My grandfather, Henry Conway was an orphan. I think he grew up
in Camden (or Gloucester City), NJ and then as a teenager lived,
and worked, on a farm in Swedesboro, Gloucester County.
I sent away for his Social Security Application, and he filled it out -
parents unknown, place of birth unknown. The story was he was
born in Dublin, came to the US where his parents died before he
was 6. I sent away to Dublin for his birth certificate, but have not
received anything yet. Where would I look for records of orphans in
Camden or Gloucester Counties? Was there an orphanage in
Swedesboro?
