Where does a person begin to look for information on passenger lists for
a person who came to America between 1767 and the early 1790's?

I have two clues to work with:

1) FURMAN HERITAGE- Came to Deerfield from Gloucester County in the early
1790's. (The New Jersey Genesis publication, Vol 13, Number 2, January
1966 pg 549)

2) Furman HERITAGE and Esther (Stratton) HERITAGE (both born cir 1767)
'Scotch people who came to the States in their younger days' (from
Biographical Review of Leading Citizens of Cumberland County New Jersey
published in 1896).

I really have no idea how to begin my search for passenger lists and
could use some advice!
