Hello all--
Yesterday I received a copy of my GG-Grandmother's death certificate
from NJ (after a 6-month wait-yikes!). Her place of death was listed as:
Gloucester Co. Institution, East Greenwich Twp.
She (Ida Garwood Liber) had lived on Tuckahoe Road in Franklin Township,
but the cert. showed her length of stay at this "institution" as 2 1/2
years. Her cause of death was "mitral valve insufficiency," along with
"hypertrophy followed by dilitation," and "rheumatism." Her date of
death was May 16, 1949.
Does anyone know about this "Gloucester Co. Institution"? Was it what
we would call a nursing home today? And is it still in existence?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Mary Liber
