Hi!
Thanks to all of you who have written to try to help me with my search. We are
in the middle of moving from one house to another so I have not had time to sit down
and let you each know that I appreciate you taking the time to try to help.

I am still looking for information on both deceased parents' families from Hoboken.
I estimate that all the grandparents were born in the early 1900s. My paternal grandfather's
family 'may' have been English, or possibly Irish. I know my father was raised Catholic so I
believe his mother was Catholic, but I am not sure if her background was English or Irish.
My mother's father's family were, I believe German (Lutheran) while her mother's family,
I believe, was Irish (very possibly Episcopalian).

My father was the youngest of the three children of Reginald & Agnes Boice. Someone
in my grandfather's family changed the spelling of their name from Boice to Boyce. My
father took the new spelling but my grandfather never changed his. I am not sure if my
aunts' maiden names were Boice or Boyce. Have written to the one cousin I think may
have some info but in most cases the remanding family members are quite elderly and
none live near me.
my father: Leonard Francis BOYCE (Boice) b, 5/23/22 d, 10/2/81
his sister: Agnes (Boyce) STACK b? [living]
his sister: Marcella (Boyce) KOENINGSFEST b? [living]
his father: Reginald ? BOICE
his mother: Agnes (MOORE) Boice
My father was apparently married first to a lady possibly named Stephanie, sometime
during the 1943 - 46, probably in Hoboken. They had a son: Leonard Francis Boyce, Jr. That
marriage ended in divorce. He married my mother 12/30/48 in Brownville, NY. They had three children:
Lois Ann Boyce Flack 8/15/49
Linda Lee Boyce Garrrow 6/27/52
Leonard Willaim Boyce 8/22/53

My mother was the youngest child and only girl of four children. There are no living
members of her family that I am aware of except for a cousin of mine who I am
attempting to contact.
my mother: Louise Matilda DITTMAR Boyce b, 1/30/23 d, 1/27/98
her brother: William ? DITTMAR b, ? d, 1970s? (married- 3 children, 2 deceased, 1 living)
her brother: Frederick ? DITTMAR b, ? d, 1950s? (never married - no children)
her brother: George ? DITTMAR b, ? d, 1940s ? (married - 2 children - ?)
her father: William ? DITTMAR b, ? d, ?
her mother: Grace LAWLER Dittmar b, d -abt. 1924
her aunt: Anna Marie LAWLER Taffell b, ? d, abt.- 1957 - Brownville, NY
My grandfather remarried after my mother's mother died and the woman he married
had two children by her former marriage. I do not know any names but she died when my
mother was around 16, which would be around 1939.
