Nancy,
The 1890 census was basically destroyed in a fire. All that remains of it is
approximately 6,000 line items. Although some records from Jersey City are in
that 6,000 it's a very SLIM chance. You would probably be better off checking
the NJ State Census for 1895.
New Jersey took a State Census every 10 years, in between the Federal - 1855,
1865, 1875, 1885, 1895, 1905, 1915.
