Donna,
You want to make sure you put it on the Hudson County list as that is where
Constable's Hook was. Where did you come up with Barentsen for Jannetje
Jans? According to my records she was Jannetje Jans van Sutphen...not a
Van Sutphen but from there. She came over as a single lady from Holland, I
believe. Unless I am confused. If you post this to the Dutch colonies
List I bet you will get lots of response to it.
I am also a descendant of this couple. I see where you get the
Barentsen..from Barentson Van Horn..sorry..momentary amnesia. I am a
descendant of hers twice through the Van Buskirk line..once on my mother's
side and once on my father's side and also through Jannetje and her first
husband Barent Van Horn..on my father's side. A Van Horn married a Van
Buskirk on my father's side. I am up to my ears with lots of Ackerman
stuff..so can't do too much looking at other things.
