Is anyone researching a family in the 1900 census with a name that in ANY
way resembles Schiantner/Shantner etc. Anything that sounds like that.

According to his burial records, Thomas Joseph Teague was aka "T. J.
Schiantner". I have no idea why. The only thing I can think of is when his
family split up in 1899 (as a result of the domestic violence incident
involving his parents Bernard and Rose (Quail) Teague) Thomas, who was only
about 15, went to a family with a name like this. I have searched the
soundex for names that sound similar with no luck.

Thanks for any clues,

Chris Smith
