Hello Jack and all listers:
I just today called VitalChek and found out that they require all genealogy
requests to be made by mail in writing (not online or by phone). Of course
just being a genealogy buff, that seems strange--who else would be
requesting records?:) Oh well, I guess it will take longer for us. I do
recommend calling the office and checking charges, address, research time
and what they require to be able to do their research before sending the
letter It might be worth seeing if they will take a genealogy request by
fax, then at least it would be quicker on one end. Also, it looked like at
least in New Jersey, that the main office for records where you write often
has earlier records than VitalChek has, which is what I needed.
