Thanks,
This Charles M. Horton is a real possibility. Someone found for me a Charles
M. in the 1891/92 Jersey City Directory living at 207 8th St., in the same
block as my GGrandmother who died at 25 in 1889. She was Mignonnette
Peacock, who was with her family at 234 8th in 1880, age 16.

The reason I had my great grandfather's name as Harry E. Horton was that is
what is on my grandfather's baptismal cert. But on his SS application he
put Charles (W. or M.) Horton.

It's possible that family legend that my grandfather's father fought in
Civil War and killed in RR accident before grandfather's birth in 1881 was
all a coverup for two teenagers fooling around.

Does 1880 census show addresses, and could I find address of this Ira Horton
family in 1880?
- Ray
