I recently resubscribed to this list and am looking for information on
ordering a death certificate in Hudson County, NJ. I have:

John Wickham b. 23 Mar 1824 in England, d. 28 Nov. 1903 in NJ.
Couldn't find him in 1900 census, but he was in West Hoboken (Union
City) in 1870 and 1880.

Do I need a certificate number before I can send for the actual
certificate. Also wondering what newspaper would have carried an
obituary. He was a former town committee member and active in the
Doric Masonic Lodge until his death (if this helps locate him).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,
