Subject: Researching Moodie Family
Have an ancestor that settled in Bayonne around the turn of the century and need help finding his family or information of the family.
James Andrew Cassells Moodie immigrated from Scotland before 1900. His wife, Susan and daughter Euphemia Spence Moodie arrived at Ellis Island in 1893. A son, George Thomson, was born in 1897. James was killed in 21 March,1911 in New York.
On the 1900 census, they lived at 33 W 54 St, Bayonne. On the 1920, Susan, daug. Effie and son, George lived at 28E 44th St., Bayonne. In the 1940's, Effie and George lived at 2 Beech St. Cranford, N.J.
Can someone help me find any more information or living family? I know Effie was a Teacher at a boarding school, probably in the area. I cannot find a death record on the SSDI on Effie, possibly she married but I have found an entry for a George Moodie, right birth date and his SSN was issued in N.J. but he died in Pennsylvania.
Would appreciate and help or tips on finding more about them.
Thanks
Grace
