I told my children that if they never had an interest, to please donate
my information (books) to the library of interest. For example, donate
my Jersey City info. to the JC library, the Maine information to the
town where we originated, either the historical society or the library,
etc. At least maybe someone might get use of it someday.
I have everything in notebooks by family name. My children pretty much
know which ones are JC, which ones are Massachusetts, Maine, etc.
I told them not to throw it out, but to donate.
