Subject: [NJHUDSON-L] Who get it??

A few days ago I asked the question:
When I die, who gets all my documented work and family mementos if no one in my family is interested enough to keep them? Many of you answered my question with the same question. I found out.
I talked to these people myself (what a phone bill I'm going to have!)
The best place, in my judgment is the Rutgers University in New Brunswick for all New Jersey family records and mementos. I talked to a gentleman in the Special Collections Dept. and he was very helpful. He told me to put it in my Will and they would be delighted to take care of my collections and will share them with interested parties that come to the college. This is the address:
Special Collections and University Archives
Alexander Library
Rutgers University
169 College Avenue
New Brunswick, NJ 08901-1163
The Bayonne Public Library asked if I would send them my Vreeland collection and seemed very excited and appreciative. Their address is :
Archives Collection
The Bayonne Public Library
697 Ave. C.
Bayonne, NJ 07002
The Jersey City Library would accept something but he didn't know what. The gentleman I talked to was vague on what's to be done with the material and seemed "put out" when I pressed the question. I didn't get a good feeling but perhaps it was a bad day for him and I'm over sensitive. Their address is:
The New Jersey Room
Main Library
472 Jersey Avenue
Jersey City, NJ
Hope that helps some of you. I know I feel a lot better now, knowing this material has a home when I'm gone.
Joan (now in Roanoke Rapids, NC)
