Hi Lance,

If you hate to be a spoil-sport, then you shouldn't be one. I am sure you
would know that 70% of the mailing on the NJHUDSON mailing list, do not
pertain to Hudson County, but rather to genealogy in general. I am sure if
you go back and count all the email's in regards to Ancestry.com or 'help I
can't find great grandpa that traveled to the Port of New York" you will
find many. This mailing list should not be limited to just genealogy
questions about Hudson County, but also to help out our fellow Hudson County
genealogists both professional and amateurs, whether the question is a
general one or not. The people that subscribe to this list have a reason to,
weather it be they live in Hudson County or had Family here at one time. The
people that subscribe to the list are the list. I get tons of email that I
do not want from this list also. After I read them I delete them. What's is
the big deal? And if you ask me, your email had absolutely nothing to do
about Hudson County genealogy and you should have replied to the sender of
the FTM email's only if it bugged you that much.
