Jersey City will have only the same information that you can get from the NJ
State Archives. It is a death register for that time period, no individual
certificates. Jersey City records may or may not have information on the
parents' names, burial place, etc. They are sort of spotty for that time
period.
Also - for Jersey City vital records - whenever possible, I suggest getting
them from the State Archives. They are MUCH easier to deal with, and I
think the waiting time is shorter. Also, Jersey City is charging more for
their vital records than any other town I know of in New Jersey.
Jersey City occasionally was lax in reporting vital records to Trenton. So,
it might be worth contacting Jersey City vital records if a record cannot be
found in Trenton. I've actually never been successful, however, in finding
a record locally that was not already found in the state copies.
Good luck
Joan
