I am researching the surnames of DAY and EARLE in Hudson Co NJ as well as Bergen Co NJ and finally in Manhattan, NYC.
Jacob Day, born about 1762 at Secaucus, Hudson Co NJ.
He married Annah (Hannah, Ann) EARLE.
She was born March 5, 1764 at Secaucus, Hudson Co NJ
Her father was Morris Earle, and her mother was Anna (Hannah) De La Montanye (Montangue, Montanje)
Morris Earle was the son of Marmaduke EARLE and Rebecca Morris, of Secaucus, NJ.
My exact connection to them is: Ann Day, born about 1792, married John Abraham Brower b. 1791 in New York City. This BROWER line original was spelled BROUWER and is striclty as MANHATTAN branch of the Brouwer descendants of Adam Brouwer, the original immigrant.
My Brower branch is NOT from NEW JERSEY, but did have many co-descendants of Adam Brouwer in NJ, they would be distant relatives.
I believe that JACOB DAY in 1790 census was living in the West side of Lower Manhattan, and was involved in the Fire Deptment in 1786 there.
I would love to hear from any researcher with interest in DAY or EARLE names in NJ.
Best regards,
Lilly Martin
