I've "rescued" an old photograph of W. A. HAAG the son of Mr. & Mrs. Louis
HAAG which was taken at the Henkel Studio in Jersey City, NJ. The
photograph was probably taken in the 1880's with the infant said to be 9
months old at the time. Based on limited research I find to possible Louis
HAAG's both living in Hudson Co., NJ during the 1880 census.
The first possibility is Louis HAAG age 33 born in Germany to parents
Frederick & Elizabeth HAAG who along with three other children were living
in Jersey City during the 1880 census. The other children living in the
household included, Frederick age 38, Caroline age 25, and Joseph age 19,
all but Joseph born in Germany.
The second possible match is Louis HAAG age 20, born in NJ to Mother
Elizabeth HAAG age 45 born in Prussia. They were living in West Hoboken, NJ
during the 1880 census along with three other children including, Minne age
17, Annie age 13, and Augusta age 9. It appears that the family owned a
Bakery.
I'm hoping to locate someone from Louis' family so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to family. If you are a member of this family or
know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
