Andrea, You will want to run to your nearest research library and look at
volume 1 of William Norman Stryker's "The Stryker Family in America",
published in 1979. He identifies the parents of your Isaac G. Stryker as
Garret Veghte Stryker (born 1778) and his first wife Phebe Brokaw
(1780-1821). Garret and Phebe were married 10 October 1801; after Phebe's
death, Garret married on 15 Feb 1828 Jane Suydam (1772-1839). Both wives
are buried in the Whitehouse, NJ cemetery. All of Garret's children are
by his first wife [surname STRYKER]; the dates are birth dates:

1. Jane V. 7 Nov 1805; m. Samuel A. Ramsey
2. John Brokaw 5 May 1808
3. Catherine Ditmars21 Jun 1810
4. ISAAC G.22 Jul 1811; m. Cornelia Ann _____
5. Sarah Ann Vanderveer 9 Sep 1813; m. John Dawes
6. Ellen Cornell19 Mar 1815
7. Garret Veghte 2 Dec 1816; m. Catherine S. Reger
8. James 7 Nov 1819

The line of descent from the immigrant couple then goes like this:

Jan Stryker (1615-1697) m. 1) Lambertje Roelofse Seubering
Pieter Stryker (1653-1741) m. 1681 Annetje Barents (1659-1717)
Jan Pieterse Stryker (1684-1770) m. 1704 Magaret Schenck
Johannes Stryker (1707-1784) m. 1733 Jane Veghte (1758-1838)
Garret Veghte Stryker (1778- ) m. 1801 Phebe Brokaw (1780-1821)
Isaac G. Stryker (1811- ) m. Cornelia Ann _________

This should keep you busy for awhile :-)! Dorothy
