Thank you for being so kind to help me out. I enjoy doing the same for others. I will look a little further on the Phineas Kent. I know I have some material laying around to look thru and I have seen him mentioned in the Briggs book as well. John Kent and Lena Kent had a son John whom I believe settled in a place called Sugar Run in the Union- Madison Co. Ohio in the Darby Plains. He ran a Maple Sugar Camp and traded syrup for blankets, with the Chillicothe Indians that resided North of Plain City in their camp. This John could have also been the son of James Kent or a name sake for the John Kent whom was the son of John and Lena Kent. I will have to check the dates to see which is most likely. There is a little information on this John by going to heritagepursuit.com and scroll half way down the page and click on pico search. A search engine will appear and then type in John Kent and then click to the right until you see Union Co. Ohio. This heritage site is abt. 13!
-14 Ohio counties by Beers. Beers was not always correct in his information however. I do not have a list of James Kent's children but do know for sure that James was the father of our Silas. Thanks again. Let me know if you are searching for material on Kents and I will see what I can find. I have a copy of the L.Vernon Briggs book on Kents. I can also tell you how to purchase a copy if you are connected to the Kent line. Belinda
