COYNES: MARGARET COYNE m. JOHN TANSEY 1889,son of BRIDGET TANSEY(maiden name
and not related to) AND THOMAS TANSEY(both from Ireland apparently and Thomas
supposedly had sister Margaret in Ireland), and lived on Valley Road or Rt 34
in Matawan Township. I have a picture of her(Margaret's) mother who was ELLEN
COYNE- Margaret died either 1939 or 1942-She was looking forward to attending
(my aunt or my mothers) high school graduation but died before. As there are
no relatives left who would remember that, until i get to Mount Olivet
Cemetery in Red Bank/Middletown NJ, I dont have that definitive date. I
believe JOHN TANSEY(d.1950?at a very elderly age) was raised on the farm on
Igoe Rd. in Big Woods or Marlboro Twsp as we know it today.I also believe
that he had alot of brothers as family lore has it that they were all over 6
feet 5 except for one brother! He and Margaret had 4 children -all born on
Valley Rd in Matawan Twsp- Thomas, who died crushed between railroad cars(
that he ran away to when his father denied his request to go school to be a
teacher) at age 21. Elizabeth, m. Thomas Welstead on 3-31-23 no children.
JOHN,called Jack(my grandfather) m. AGNES GOREY in 1921 -She was daughter of
Martin Gorey and ANNIE BRADY.Their children were Elizabeth(b.3-31-22 d.
12-1-62)who married Richard Lewis and had 3 children-Richard Jr. b. 7-20-47,
Kathleen m. Wm Fitzgerald and had 4 children-Colleen b. 11-9-68, Brian b.
1970, Erin Elizabeth b.1972 and m. Brad Jenkins in Minneapolis on 5-09-98 has
Katie, and Kevin b. 1974. Also, Betty had son John Thomas b.9-10-51 d.
10-30-99 buried near Las Vegas in veterans cemetary.Their second daughter was
my mother DOROTHY TANSEY(6-13-26 d.7-5-76) who married ROBERT
ERDMANN(10-18-23 d.7-31-64) of Matawan on 1-26-45 at St Josephs RC Church,
Keyport. NJ. I am the only child-LINDA b.9-9-47 married FLOYD LEONARD
BROWN(b. 12-15-43) (who is the son of Floyd Brown m. Helen Robinson of
Freehold). Marguerite married Edward Murphy of Binghamton,NY in the 1940s. No
children survived after birth. . ANY help would be appreciated-thank you =
