This may or may not be the correct William. He had to be 21y or
older to make this request.
From "Intestates and Others from the Orphans Court Books of Mon.
Co., NJ, 1785 - 1906" by Judith Cronk, pg. 57.
"Book I, Jan. 1838, pg. 451. - William Lane, son of Jacob Lane, dec'd.,
applied for a division of his father's real estate. The heirs of Jacob
Lane, dec'd. were children and grandchildren.
Children: William Lane and Catherine Lane
Grandchildren (parents not identified): Tunis Lane; Stephen Lane; Mary Ann
Lane, wife of Isaiah Lane; Sarah Letts, dec'd., late Sarah Lane, late wife
of David Letts; Cornelius Lane; Alice Lane; Rebecca Lane; Randolph Lane;
Alice Lane; Mary Lane; Catherine Lane; Jacob Lane; Anna Lane; Bloomfield
Lane; and Washington Lane. Note: there were two grandchildren namedAlice Lane."
