I am seeking to find out if it is possible to obtain WWI service records
for someone who was not drafted, but rather enlisted. I am still trying to
find my grandfather's brother, who enlisted in the army about the time of
WWI. I seem to recall, perhaps incorrectly, that one has to be a direct
ancestor of someone in order to obtain WWI records?? Perhaps that is
just a misunderstanding on my part. Any suggestions appreciated.
