The Sussex Independent: ForApril 30, 1915
Mrs. Mary E. Rogers, widow of James D. Rogers, died at her home near Mt.
Salem, at 6:15 o'clock Wednesday morning. She had been ill a long time from
heart trouble and was taken last week with the grip. Mrs. Rogers was a
daughter of Jerome and Lydia Gilson and was born near Colesville
seventy-four years ago. Her husband had been dead a number of years. She
is survived by two sons, James Rogers, of Slate Hill, NY and Harrison
Rogers, of Port Jervis; three daughters, Mary, wife of Enos Brink, of Mt.
Salem; Sadie, wife of William Williams, at home, and Mrs. Ida Grant, of
Norwich, NY and one sister, Hannah, wife of Jerry Cole , of Mt. Salem.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Joseph MacInnes, pastor of the
Unionville Presbyterian Church, will be held t the house Sunday afternoon at
1:15 o'clock, and Interment will be made in the Mt. Salem Cemetery.
