A while ago I posted that the Archives sent me a notice back saying they
couldn't find
any records for my Matthew Babcock. I had only sent for the Pension
file, I mailed a form
to them again requesting the Full file. Today I finally received
military records for Matthew.

Gives his place of birth as Orange County, NY. Residence in 1864,
Warwick, NY.
Post Office address of Sloutsborough, NY. Date of enlistment, 12 Jan,
1864.
Blue eyes, light hair, fair complexion, 5’9” tall.

Now that I finally know where Matthew was born, where of where can I
find his
parents. Isaac & Mary Babcock, among the many other Isaac's and Mary's
out there.
Anyone have a connection to Isaac of Orange County and if Matthew lived
in Warwick in 1864 why would he have a post office address of
Sloutsborough?

Little by little another piece of the puzzle turns up sooner or later!!
Thanks for any help anyone can give me. I was excited to finally know
where
Matthew was born in 1823.
Sue
