Found this expansive obituary for George SHOTWELL that included
this expansive family genealogy - enjoy.

New Jersey Herald, Newton, NJ dated Thurday May 8, 1930

George SHOTWELL, a native and resident of Sussex County
until within the past three years, died at the residence of his son
and daughter-in-law, George Arthur SHOTWELL and Lillian
REYNOLDS SHOTWELL near East Stroudsburg on Friday,
May 2, 1930 at the ripe old age of 88 years.
Mr. SHOTWELL left him surviving a son George Arthur
SHOTWELL above named and a daughter Leila SEELY,
wife fo Ernest SEELY, of the borough of Andover, and nine
grandchildren, Herbery Arthur SHOTWELL, Evelyn SHOTWELL,
Esther RICE, wife of Lloyd RICE, Emily SHOTWELL, and Lulu
SHOTWELL, children of said George Arthur and Lilian REYNOLDS
SHOTWELL and Earle J. SEELY, Francis SEELY, Ruth SEELY
and Wsther Lu SEELY, children of Leila and Earnest SEELY and
one great-grandchild, Arthur RICE, son of Esther and Lloyd RICE.
Mr. SHOTWELL is a descendant of the earlier settlers of
Sussex county. His father, Abram SHOTWELL, who died July
27, 1864, was twice married, his first wife being Martha INGLIS
who died December 7, 1824. By this union there were five
children who grew to maturity, three sons: Samuel SHOTWELL,
William I. SHOTWELL, and James I. SHOTWELL and two
daughter, Elizabeth, who married Dennis J. MORRIS and
Margaret who married Daniel S. MORRIS. All of these are now
deceased and but a few of their children are living. Anna
SHOTWELL who is now living at Lafayette is the only survivor
of the family of Willaim I. SHOTWELL. Dellie SHOTWELL who
lives on Madison street, Newton, is the only survivor of the family
of James I. SHOTWELL. MArtha CRAWN wife of Sanford J.
CRAWN and William R. MORRIS of the township of Fredon
and Mary HUFF, wife of Edmund P. HUFF, of the town of Hope
are the living children of Margaret and Daniel S. MORRIS. The
children of Elizabeth and Dennis J. MORRIS are all deceased.
Abram SHOTWELL married for his second wife, Susan
McCONNELL who died January 2, 1852. By the second marriage
there were three children: Emily SHOTWELL, Robert SHOTWELL
and the said George SHOTWELL. Robert SHOTWELL left him
surviving two children, Jacob SHOTWELL and Raymond SHOTWELL,
both of whom are living.
George SHOTWELL was born September 12, 1841 in the present
main dwelling house on the Morris Farms which has been completed
a year prior to his birth, and he made his home there until he went
to Andover to live. In his early life, he united with the Baleville
Christian Church and when he moved to Andover, transferred his
membership to the Andover Presbyterian Church where he was not
only a faithful attendant but served as an Elder of that church for
more than forty years and was actively identified with all church
and christian work and was highly respected for his christian
scharacter and integrity.
He was buried from the home of his son and daughter-in-law
on Monday afternoon of the present week. A number of friends
and former neighbors journeyed to East Stroudsburg to attend
his funeral services which were conducted by Rev. BLACKMAN,
pastor of the East Stroudsburg Presbyterian church, assisted
by Rev. Elmer E. HOFFMAN, the present pastor of the Baleville
Christian Church for which the late Mr. SHOTWELL maintained
a love and affection. The pall-bearers were his friends and
associates from the borough of Andover. The burial was in the
Andover Cemetery.
