Death of Charles P. Rorbach

Former Newtonian Became Prominent Railroad Man in West
Word has been received of the death of Charles P. Rorbach which occurred at
his home in Minneapolis on September 12. Mr. Rorbach was a son of the late
Charles P. Rorbach, in his day one of the best known men in the Town of
Newton, and widely related in the county. Forty years ago Charlie Rorbach
was one of the most accomplished and best liked young chaps in the county.
He married and removed West where he became general traffic manager of the
Chicago, Quincy and Burlington, where he was a general favorite of the late
John I. Blair. He prospered. Charlie is well remembered by what are now
the older boys of Newton. Most of his relatives are gone. He is survived by
one son and three daughters, all grown. His mother was a daughter of the
late Rev. Clarkson Dunn, for many years pastor of the Christ Church, Newton.
Dr. Rorbach of Johnsonburg, is a brother . Of his sisters, Margaret, the
oldest married the late G. Beakes Dunning, of Newton; Lizzie, married Fred
Leport, of Kansas City, and Carrie married George VanGelder of Montreal,
Canada. Charlie was sixty-five years old. Dr. Dunning of Franklin is a
