>From the New Jersey Herald, March 19, 1874:

"Died in this village {Sussex}, Thursday, March 12th, Miss Louisa Little, in
the 28th year of her age. The subject of this obituary notice was the
youngest living child of a family of twelve children of the late Joseph S.
Little, of Vernon, four having preceeded her on the long journey. She had
long been an invalid and fell a victim to the fell destroyer consumption.
Hers was indeed a lovely character, endowed with all the virtues that make
the true woman, the kind friend, the gentle, loving sister, and the earnest
and devoted Christian. She had many friends who knew her but to love her,
and her early death has caused an aching void in many a heart that loved her
while living and reveres her memory now that she has left us. It may be
truly said that hers was a most gentle, loving and amiable disposition that
cast sunshine wherever her presence was felt and brought rays of gladness to
all who enjoyed her friendship. She bore her sufferings with Christian
fortitude, and during her long years of sickness and suffering never once
murmured but put her trust in him who 'doeth all things well.' She learned
to lean on the strong arm of her Saviour, feeling assured in the fullness of
time He would give her rest. During her last brief illness when it became
apparent to herself and friends that the angel of death was drawing nigh, her
mind shone out resplendent and seemed illumined with a power divine as the
days passed by that brought her nearer and nearer to the dark valley. She
often expressed a willingness to go. She had fought the good fight, she had
won the victory, and when the summons came bowed submissive to the stroke and
said, "Lord thy will not mine be done.' Her funeral obsequies were held at
the Baptist Church by the Rev. Mr. Davis, a former pastor, on Sunday last,
and were largely attended. The Reverend gentleman selected his text from the
Songs of Solomon, 6th chapter and 2nd verse. 'My beloved is gone down into
his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather
lilies.' He delivered a touching and feeling discourse that melted many
hearts and brought tears to the eyes of all. Yes, she has passed through the
valley of the shadow of death, she has crossed over to the other side, she
has reached the shining shore and there among the ransomed and redeemed is
enjoying 'the peace that passeth all understanding.' Her remains were
interred in the new cemetery, adjoining the church, where they await the
final resurrection. Peace to her ashes."

Hope this helps someone.
