I am calling out for volunteer transcribers for Section 3 of the NMDI (New Mexico Death Index) Project. The Project needs at least 32 Volunteers. So far, we have 7 from Section 1 & 2 whom already sign up. Your name will be added to the List of Donors/Volunteers on the NMDI Website once your section has been completed. The earliest that Section 3 of the NMDI Project will start is the end of May.

As there was a situation with one Donor of Section 1&2 of the NMDI Project (which cost the Project a great deal of money and time), the Transcribe Volunteers will have to sign a wavier stating “I am volunteering to transcribe a part of Section 3 of the NMDI Project, I will keep the ownership (copyright) of the section which I will be transcribing and donate the end product toward the NMDI Project and website without any conditions or restrictions. And I agree that release of the transcribing will not be given to a third party until the entire Section 3 is completed. Actions for violations of the mention above statements will be decided by the Head Coordinator (Sam-Quito) and Co-Coordinator (Gina) of the NMDI Project.” I do apologies for taking this extreme measure as we are all Volunteers and had learn our lesson from Section 1 & 2, not to be repeated.

If you are interested in volunteering for Section 3, please send an email only to: (NOT ON THIS MAILING LIST) stating your speed of typing, hours per week you can transcribe, the programme you are planning to use (MS Word, MS Works, Excel, etc.) and your email & mailing address.
