Research from the Latter Day Saints website seems to support this proposition about a family in the Svennes Parish, Nord Aurdal, Oppland, Norway:


--That Mons or Mogens Arnesen, christianed March 9, 1765, is the son of Arne Olsen Svennes, born January 25, 1728, and Jorund Monsdatter Rudlang. Arne married Joran on October 15, 1753.

--That Ole Arnesen, born March 11, 1759, is the brother of Mons Arnesen, chr. March 9, 1765, and the son of Arne Olsen and Joran. Ole's wife is Sigri Knudsdatter.

People on this list are much better than I am about accessing records online that I seem never able to find again. I tried to get Norway to confirm this theory; sometimes they help, sometimes not. They thought this was too much.

I could look around for films, but before doing that, are there any other suggestions? Can I find Mons and Ole together somewhere with Arne Olsen--such as a farm list?

I am content to accept the work done by others and posted on the LDS website, but I am having a discussion with someone who may be a distant cousin and is more wary--probably because things go on LDS which are sometimes wrong.
