NORCAL's Genealogy Index is, unfortunately, the best kept secret on the
Web. To quote the Index itself,

"The NORCAL Genealogy Index lists state-wide genealogical indexes that
help genealogists and historians to locate source material for their
research. The object of this index is to provide researchers with a
complete list of index references and a description of their use and
content, so that the researcher can copy them off the web pages and
prepare themselves for visits to research libraries around California.
These indexes were compiled mainly by members of the Northern California
genealogy discussion list (NORCAL). New indexes will be added to the
list."
