Hi Lee,

I don't know a great deal about Great Registers, so I can't fully answer
your question. But I do know that the *indexes* to them, for various
years between 1866 and 1928, are on 38 rolls of microfilm at the San
Francisco Main Public Library's "History Center".

Maggee Smith (another NORCAL member and one of the terrific volunteers
who helps with the USGenWeb San Francisco County pages) is working on a
list of LDS films of the San Francisco Great Registers. So far, she
found out that LDS has filmed the indexes and the actual registers for
1866, 1867, 1869, 1870 supplement, 1872-1873, 1875, 1876-1877, 1878,
1880, 1882, 1886, 1888, 1890, 1892, 1896, 1898. She is working on
getting the LDS film numbers as well, and when she completes the list,
it will be posted on the SF pages. In the meantime, at least you know
that these years are available to be ordered through any local FHC.
