Patricia:

MAPQUEST on internet says that Nadeau is located in Los Angeles (Florence)
about 79th Street and East of Interstate
110 and west of Alameda Street. It seems to be on the
fifth large (North/South) street east of I110 and on the first
large (N/S) street west of Alameda.

I would think that originally it was an unincorporated area/neighborhood
that was absorbed into the surrounding
communities. It seems to be surrounded, within a reasonable distance by
Washington Park, Firestone Park, Roosevelt Park.

I think that when I was about 11-12 years old, I lived about
40 blocks south and somewhat west of this location. Things
in South LA were different in the 1950's.

You would want to contact Los Angeles city or county for records in this area.

Hope this helps.

Regards and good hunting,

Lawrence E. (Larry) Kuttner (of Oregon)
