Great that means that 91000 to 96999 are California and
97000 to 97999 are Oregon and 98000 to 98999 are Washington.
If ZIP was changed after date of death then it's quite possible
that it will give a "false" location. Also as mentioned, the ZIP's
given are for the location to which the decedent's SS payments
were sent and the location to which the death benefit was sent.
If the payments were sent to an agent, guardian, etc., who lived
elsewhere then the final payments ZIP will show the agents
address and not the decedents. But it's the best that one has to
work with.
