I have found that many of the CADI listings from the earlier years that
appear in the index might not necessarily be found at the county level. I
have tried to find at least 3 here in Stanislaus county that don't exist in
the local index but appear in CADI. There might be a county number on the
index but the early certificates are filed in books by page number and the
certificate number does not correspond to the page number - therefore the
need for the index. I usually advise people to order from the state if it
appears in CADI.
