The police dept. records are commonly (not always) destroyed after seven
years. Court records ditto unless there is an appeal.
You'd need to first determine the agency that arrested him, & the actual
charge.
If Pittsburgh had it's own PD back then, he might have been arrested by
them, if not then maybe by the Sheriff's Office. I say maybe since the
investigation may have started in some other jurisdiction (city or S.O. ) &
they could have arrested him & booked him for trial in their jurisdiction.
It could also have been a federal violation with a federal arrest.
I would suggest the best start would be to get access ( direct or
microfilm ) to a newspaper for the area / time & see if the incident was
reported. Next would be to check the indexes for the municipal & superior
courts. They may be at the court, or some archive location. Was he only
jailed until the trial, or was he sentenced to some prison time ? Some
searchers have had luck with the State Archives for State Prison records.
If it was a Federal Case, you need someone who knows more than I do.
