Dr. HULING was born in New Jersey in the year 1813 and his career has
been a checkered one. In 1818 he moved to Ohio, in 1826 came still
further toward the frontier and settled in Wisconsin. In 1832 we find
him a prominent personage in the Blackhawk War, the year 1848 carried
him southward into Mexico, and the following year of '49 he came to the
Pacific Coast. His career in this State is well known to all, and death
carried from us a good man.
