Every county has on file at their Recorders Office all livestock brands
registered in that county. I don't know if this will help but there is
a website for the CDFA livestock registration is
http://www.cdfa.ca.gov/animal/Livestock_ID/registration_info.html
The Brand Inspection Branch of the CDFA for all of California is
916-654-0889; there are 4 more regional offices as follows: Northern
California is 530-347-5721
North central California is 209-847-1910
South central California is 209-925-8207
Southern California is 909-923-8721
There is also a FAX # in Sacramento at 916-653-5190
