Petaluma.

On Wednesday last, two men stopped at the Mountain Twp. House, kept by
Mr. F.F. FINE, on the road between Nicasio and Petaluma. One of the
ruffians drew a pistol, which Mr. FINE knocked out of his hand and then
succeeded in flooring his assailant. The accomplice then struck Mr. FINE
and felled him to the floor and guarding him with a drawn pistol, they
successfully robbed the house of $206.75. They then helped themselves to
liquor and what they wanted to eat and when they had satiated their
appetites and taken everything of value they could get, compelled FINE,
who is very lame, to walk down the road several rods, without even the
assistance of his cane. The robbers then made good their escape into the
mountains. No clue has yet been obtained to the perpetrators of the
crime.

Married at Ukiah, Apr. 7, 1870, James BARTLETT and Lizzie LAUGHLIN.

In the notice of the marriage of our friend, Charley SON, of Ukiah,
published in the 'Flag' last week, the bride's name should have been
printed Mrs. Jane CROWELL. On account of the copy being dim, from which
the notice was taken, the printer made the mistake by leaving off the
'ell' from the name and we gave him 'ell' for it. Mrs. SON was the widow
of the late Wm. H. CROWELL, formerly of this county.

Died near Windsor, April 12th, Mrs. Melinda, wife of J.M. FEWEL and
daughter of James PREWETT, aged 32y. Faithful in all the relations of
life, she left the consolation to surviving friends that their loss is
her eternal gain. In her spotless example she still lives in the hearts
of all who knew her.

Mr. Frank McFEILEIGH, who came down from Ukiah, from we've learned, the
following particulars of a homicide which occurred 2 miles east of Ukiah
last Friday; It appears that there was some unpleasant feeling between
Wm. DAVIS and Jeff. FAUGHT and that the former sent the latter word to
'heel' himself. Some days afterwards (last Friday), DAVIS was driving
past FAUGHT'S house, when FAUGHT asked him what he meant by sending the
message. DAVIS replied that he meant what he said and getting down from
his wagon, he approached FAUGHT in a threatening attitude. FAUGHT then
retreated into his house and soon reappeared with a gun. DAVIS by this
time had mounted his seat and was driving off, when FAUGHT shot him in
the back of the head, killing him instantly. FAUGHT gave himself up and
when our informant left, was in the custody of the Sheriff awaiting an
examination.

Last Saturday, James JOHNSON, living near Healdsburg's Mill, found one
of his horses lying dead in his pasture. The horses body had 2 bullet
holes in it, from which the blood was still flowing. There can hardly be
a doubt that some malicious scoundrel want only killed the horse, but
who he is or what was his motive Mr. JOHNSON has no conjecture.

On Tuesday morning, a difficulty arose between two men, partners, named
Benjamin DOYLE and H.P. WYBURN, in which the former was shot and
instantly killed by the latter. It will be recollected that some time

Cuffy's Cove claimed by Mr. KINNEY, and upon which they were engaged in
building a chute when the fatal difficulty arose. It is said the
deceased commenced the row by drawing a knife upon his partner, who drew
a pistol and killed him as stated.
