Hi Listers;
in continuing in the reused graves thread, I was recently in
Switzerland , and a great part of Europe hasn't enought free soil to dig
graves and when family lines or interests died out the graves in most
part are reused...many grave yards are in tiny valleys and are of river
beds or granite ledges and you can't even "blast" through them. They do
salvage the headstones for the most part and these are stored within the
graveyard for unknown reasons....I found about 8-10 relatives were
mounted on a "mourning wall" as there isn't any family there anymore, I
am 4th generation AMERICAN, but the 1st to return to Switzerland
homelands. Most of Switzerland is Catholic on the South end near
Italy......and Catholic's don't do creamations...I never did find out
where the bones where.....and i did loose a great AUNT in the
chase....she is there but no one knows where, she is in their death
register books, but no body or markers to found. Hope this helps to
answer someones questions.
You may be only ONE person in the WORLD~ but you also may be the WORLD
to ONE person~HAPPY HEARTS MONTH~Linda
