You are right. We went to Redding in 1962, and the highway was not near as
wide as from Stockton to Los Angeles.

I think the stretch from LA, north to Sacramento was four lanes much
earlier
that north of Sacramento. I'm 55 but realize I'm just a spring
chicken...just getting started too. I lost my parents fairly young but my
grandparents lived into their 90's. I'll be here for a while.
