Daily Advance
Hollister, CA
13 Jun 1878
*************

We noticed Mr. Joaquin BOLADO, of San Francisco, and Mr. J.A. CLAYTON, of
San Jose, well known real estate men, on our streets yesterday.

Mrs. N.C. BRIGGS returned from a 5 weeks visit to friends and relatives
in Amador county last evening. Mr. BRIGGS met her in San Francisco.

Having accepted a position as salesman at BALDWIN & GRIFFITH’s, Mr. Frank
WELLS, an old resident, has returned to Hollister. His family are yet at
Salinas, but will come over in a few days.

Richard McGLOUGHLIN, a stranger in these parts, was picked up yesterday
morning, about 5 o’clock by the night watch, in a state of beastly
sobriety. In addition to a large head which was built on him by the
denizens in the classic precincts of “Chicken” alley, he was allowed, by
Judge OWENS, to contribute $6 towards paring off the city indebtedness.

Mrs. Luis ARQUES and her children came down yesterday for a week’s visit
to her parents, Mr.&Mrs. G.B. MONTGOMERY.
