Meanwhile, here are some highlights ....
Anthony J. McPhee was born May 15 1862 in the ittle hamlet of Sidney. He was
the son of John and Sarah McGillvray McPhee, natives of that provence. At
the age of 14 he came to the States and for a short itme worked in the
Hodges iron foundry at Chelsea Mass. Next he went to the Bradwell & Anderson
furniture factory at Boston, where he remained for 6 years.
Hearing of the need of skilled carpenters in California he came west in 1887
and settled in Los Angles as a member of the firm of McNeill and McPhee. He
came to Stockton in 1889.
He was married Nov 14, 1888 to Mis sRose Howley,l native of Madison Wis.
Their eldest child was Vincent J., next was Harrvey, next was Carlton and
the youngest was Leland.
