Ernie worked out of the San Francisco main office but designed lots of
plants and substations all over California. Before he retired in the 1970s,
he taught power plant engineering at Santa Clara University. He and his
wife stayed in California for many years after retirement, building a home
in Pioneer. He worked as a consultant for a while even building a hydro
electric plant in the mountains of Equador. About a decade ago they moved
to Texas to be near his stepson.
