private e-mail, since the message I'm responding to contained the address of
neither Joyce nor Jeanne. - Doug]
I see you (Grace) are researching the PLATTON family and both of you are
researching the PALMER family. I also have both PLATTEN (minor spelling
change) and PALMER families in Norfolk. Having just made the "leap across
the pond", I'm beginning to research my lines in Norfolk, so I don't have as
much information on these lines as I would have liked to have before
posting. If my lines connect with either of yours, please drop me a line.
My 3* great-grandfather, John PLATTEN (born May or June 1808), married Mary
Ann DYBALL
14-Apr-1830 in Hickling, Norfolk. Mary Ann was born 10-Feb-1809 in Dilham
to Philip DYBALL and Elizabeth PALMER, who had been married 8-Aug-1803 in
Smallburgh.
I am working on trying to trace all of these families further back, and
would appreciate any source references, hints, or information about the
families that you can provide. Since PALMER is such a common name, I plan
on working the other lines first, unless I receive information otherwise.
